IMEI model finder

Enter an IMEI to see which brand and model it belongs to. The lookup happens in your browser, and the IMEI is never sent to us or anyone else.

IMEI model finderRuns in your browser. Your IMEI is not sent anywhere.

Dial *#06# to show your IMEI, or look in Settings: iPhone, General → About; Android, About phone. It is also printed on the box. Model data from the Osmocom TAC database (CC BY-SA 3.0).

How to find your IMEI

  • Dial *#06# on the phone. The IMEI appears on screen.
  • iPhone: Settings → General → About.
  • Android: Settings → About phone (sometimes under Status).
  • On the original box, or on the SIM tray of some phones.

How it works

The first 8 digits of an IMEI are the Type Allocation Code (TAC), which identifies the model. The last digit is a check digit, so we can tell you when an IMEI looks mistyped. Only the TAC is needed to find the model; the remaining digits are the device's serial number.

Limits

The model data comes from the Osmocom TAC database, a community-maintained list published under CC BY-SA 3.0 (© Harald Welte and contributors). It is incomplete and has few recent phones, so many current models will not be found. This tool cannot tell whether a phone is stolen, blacklisted or locked to an account.
